Description
The Rocky Mountain Bull Elk is known for its distinctive bugling call, which can be heard in the fall during the breeding season, also known as the rut. This call is used by male elk to attract mates and to establish dominance over other males. In the Grand Teton National Park, it is common to hear the bugling of bull elk echoing through the valleys and mountains during the fall. This is a popular time for wildlife viewing and many visitors to the park come specifically to witness the elk rut and hear their bugling calls.
